Tuesday 24th July - Woodland & Park

Walk from The Ridge through St Helen's Park, including woods, arboretum and meadows.  Home through Alexandra Park with maybe a stop for drinks and cake.

Bus No. 28 from Bus Stop N (I think!) opposite W H Smith, 10 o'clock - on the hour, so don't miss it!  Meet at 9.55, or on bus, or if you take another route - top of St Helen's Park Road, on The Ridge at about 10.25.

We than walk down through the woods and park.

And if you have come from elsewhere for Pirates Day and are staying on, please join us if you would like too.  (Or even if you haven't come for Pirates Day - you are still very welcome!)

Another walk of interest

For those who are in Hastings for Olympic Torch day and who are looking for other activities, don't miss the Old Hastings Preservation Society guided walk on Tuesday 17th July, starting at the top of the West Hill Lift, by the cafe, at 2.30pm.

The walk proceeds gently downhill and around the Old Town, taking about 90 minutes.

Just turn up, the walk is free, though donations to the charity are welcome.

Tuesday 26th June 2012

Thanks to Google I have plotted a route around six of the St Michael's Hospice Gardens, which is just over 2 miles.  We then have the option of walking back along the shoreline (more or less) from Cooden Beach to Bexhill.  This will be just over five miles for the whole walk.

We will get the 99 bus from Havelock Road (towards Eastbourne) which leaves at 10:13 (10.09 from the station.

N.B. - Unfortunately dogs are not allowed in the gardens, but we can take turns.

Stroll awhile in London? 9th and 10th June

212 gardens, 2 days, 1 ticket

If you could visit all those garden in 2 days (maybe there is a challenge for someone there!) it would cost you less than a farthing per garden.  That was the nearest coinage I could come up with, because we don't have anything to represent 0.05 (and that has been rounded up!)

Find all you need to know on this excellent site

oh yes, and if you are members of the National Trust it will be something like 0.025, as you get a 50% discount on your tickets.

Buying tickets is really easy and you get an amazing guidebook! Smile  Gardens include prisons, barges, private squares, Kensington Roof Gardens, traditional private squares, contemporary allotments and lots lots more!

So much to see, so little time to see it.  Don't delay, book today!
